Two Myanmar nationals accused of murdering two British tourists in Koh Tao, Thailand have lost their appeal against a death sentence in the appeal court in Bangkok on March 2.
However, the lawyer of Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Tun told reporters that a final appeal will be made with the Thai Supreme Court against the death penalty.
The double murders of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller in 2014 were said to have tarnished Thailand’s image as a tourist hotspot and also the reputation of the Thai police.
The judges’ verdict in the court of appeals said that all evidence against both defendants is sufficient and conclusive.
