He's been called the Donald Trump of the Philippines...

Rodrigo Duterte, the unofficial winner of the country's presidential elections, is known as much for his tough stance on crime as he is for tough talk on... everything else.

While mayor of Davao city Duterte had a reputation for turning a blind eye to vigilante killings. To his critics he says:

If you're accusing me of killing people, sue me. I'll kill you also.

Earlier this year in one what is touted as one of his most controversial remarks, Duterte made a comment about a woman who was gang raped during a prison riot in the 80's.

I got angry because she was raped, yes, he said. But she's beautiful and I'm the mayor so I should have been the first in line.

Of his foul language, Duterte says he's only joking. He says his statements are taken out of context and that his plan to be tough on crime is what will help turn the country around.

Just follow the law, and we're done, he said. Don't buy drugs, don't steal and don't touch women.... well unless she's your girlfriend.

Besides vows to restore law and order Duterte's also promised to behave if he becomes president. But said he wouldn't make state visits to countries with cold weather.
